New Painting: Near Hilton Falls, Ontario

‘Near Hilton Falls, Ontario’ (2012) by Jamie Kapitain

‘Near Hilton Falls, Ontario’ (2012) by Jamie Kapitain. Oil on canvas, 36×48 inches.

Dead leaves on the ground can be more interesting then when they were hanging from branches. Hiking to the falls at Hilton Falls Conservation Area, I came across this beautiful autumn palette with white highlights provided by several birch trees. The study painting is here. This painting is currently hanging at the Art Gallery of Hamilton as part of my ‘New Works’ show until mid-June.

We have this painting hanging in our living room. It is a magical piece- the light in the forest seems to change throughout the day. Thank you! It is exquisite.
