Exhibition: ‘De Tour’ at the Barber Gallery

October 15, 2010

'Early Spring Near Guelph' (2010) by Jamie Kapitain. Oil on canvas, 30x40 inches.

This weekend is the 25th Annual Guelph Studio Tour, a great event that I have been a member of over the years. To celebrate the 25th tour, the Barber Gallery has launched a group exhibition called ‘De Tour’ showcasing the work of 40 artists who have been members of the tour in the past. I’m excited to have my new painting ‘Early Spring Near Guelph’ in the show that runs until October 31st.

Here is the press release for the ‘De Tour’ show:

When all the road work is getting you down, do what Guelphites have learned to do best this year. Take a detour! October is annual studio tour time and in honour of the Guelph Studio Tour’s 25th we’ll be hosting ‘De-Tour’, a group exhibition of forty artists showcasing 25 years of past members work. From out of province to right next door, see what artists from studio tours past are up to now. Show runs to October 31st. Free admission. Free parking. Open Tuesday to Friday 9-5:30, and Saturdays with warm autumn refreshment from 9-4. Barber Gallery, 167 Suffolk Street West, Guelph, (519) 824-0821
