Sketch: Winter Foliage, Mount Nemo

January 13, 2010

I have a new painting very close to completion that is based on this sketch. I found this landscape hiking on the Niagara Escarpment through Mount Nemo Conservation Area. The winter foliage reminded me of another season and its color created a beautiful palette with the blues and whites of the winter landscape. The painting will be part of the Trillium Waldorf School Silent Auction next month. All the details will be posted with the painting as soon as the oils dry.

I like your approach to blogging. I’m fascinated by the artistic process, so for you to share how you go about creating is very interesting. Beautiful work, as well.

Thanks Gloria. Sharing the process from hiking in the woods all the way to the finished canvas adds a lot to the viewing experience.
